Club 53
HEAD OF
MARKETING & BRAND
About Club 53
Club 53 is a curated nightlife and lifestyle events brand from 53 Group, built for a 21+ Lagos crowd. We do not run a venue. We take over spaces and build nights that feel like a moment, not just another party. Our first event is coming, and it is the start of something we intend to grow.
The Role
You own demand. Your job is to make sure that when Club 53 announces a night, Lagos wants to be in the room, and that everything the brand puts out looks and sounds unmistakably like Club 53. You will build and run the campaign that sells the December event out, direct the content and photography around it, and protect the brand's voice of scarcity and quiet confidence.
You lead two volunteer streams: Social & Content, and Media & Photography.
What You Will Own
- The campaign: build and run the marketing calendar working back from the event date, covering the announcement moments, ticket releases and the lineup reveal, and read the numbers so it adjusts early if sales are slow.
- The waitlist: grow it before on-sale, keep it warm, and use it to give the earliest buyers first access when tickets release.
- Brand and voice: guard the Club 53 identity so everything published, from a caption to a poster, is on brand every time.
- Social and content: own the social channels, starting with @club53.ng - the content plan, posting cadence and community engagement - and brief the Social & Content volunteer.
- Media and photography: direct the pre-event shoots, on-night capture and the post-event recap, and brief the Media & Photography volunteer.
- Partners, press and talent comms: deliver the brand side of sponsor activations, handle press and influencer touchpoints, and own everything public around whoever is booked.
How We Work
Club 53 is a small, senior team where the big creative calls are made together, with final sign-off resting with the Founder & Chief Curator. You report to the Founder on the campaign plan, the content calendar, marketing spend, and how ticket demand is tracking against the plan.
What Success Looks Like
- The event sells out, and the sell-out itself becomes content.
- The waitlist converts hard at on-sale.
- The brand is instantly recognisable and never off voice.
- The recap lands within days and has people asking about the next one.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential
- Experience marketing events, nightlife, lifestyle or consumer brands, ideally in Lagos.
- Strong instinct for social content that converts, not just content that exists.
- Able to plan a campaign backwards from a date and hold the calendar.
- A sharp eye for visual quality and a tight grip on tone of voice.
- Comfortable briefing and managing creatives and volunteers.
- Available around events, including evenings, nights and weekends.
Nice to have
- An existing network across Lagos nightlife, media and influencers.
- Hands-on skills in design, photography or video editing.
- Experience marketing ticketed events and reading sales data.
The Practical Details
- Engagement: contractual, fixed-term from August to December 2026 around the debut event, with scope to continue as Club 53 grows.
- Location: remote and event-based in Lagos. You will need to be at events and key on-site sessions in person.
- Hours: flexible, with evening, night and weekend work around events.
- Reports to: Founder & Chief Curator.
- Applications closed: Sunday 26 July 2026, 10pm Lagos time.
